A New Church Grandson!
Congratulations to Rob and Megan Hill, who recently adopted Caleb Campbell into their family. Caleb was born in Mississippi on April 14th and weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz. Proud grandparents are Pastor Brad and Patsy Evans!
Megan says, “We give thanks to God for the fearful and wonderful way in which he made Caleb and brought him into our family!”
A Bridal Shower/Brunch honoring Miss Sarah Glenister
All Women (and Girls) in the Church are invited
Saturday, May 17th
9:30 AM at the church
Lauri Volkert is coordinating food for the brunch. Please sign up on the sheet on the Women’s Bulletin Board (just inside the Narthex) if you are able to provide food. RSVP to Nancy Franson (423-9185). You may also let Nancy know if you are interested in participating in a group gift.
Officer Nominations
During the month of May, we have the opportunity as members of the church to nominate men for the offices of Deacon and Elder. Please prayerfully consider if you would like to nominate someone for one of these offices. An insert is available in the bulletin outlining the qualifications for each office. If you would like to make a nomination, write a paragraph or so about your nominee and submit it to Pastor Evans or one of the Elders.
Vacation Bible School 2008!
Vacation Bible School is just around the corner! July 14th-18th from 9:00 AM until noon for ages 4 to 11. As we prepare for this summer’s VBS, we are reminded of how exciting it is to lead our covenant children into a deeper understanding of God’s truth, while reaching out with the gospel message to children who may have never heard it!
The theme this year is “Son Harvest County Fair.” The week will take our children down on the farm for some county fair fun! The theme verses are Galatians 5:22-23, the fruit of the Spirit. Our children will learn to grow LOVE, sprout JOY, plant PEACE, produce PATIENCE, and pick KINDNESS.
There is no registration fee to attend. There will be an opportunity for the congregation to donate craft supplies, snacks, and props for decoration.
If you would like to volunteer to serve at VBS, there is a sign-up sheet in the Fellowship Hall. Also, mark your calendar: there will be a staff orientation on Thursday, June 19th at 7:00 PM. We ask that all those who have volunteered to help please come and enjoy coffee and dessert as we go over the details of the program.
If you have any questions, please speak with one of the directors: Amy Hauser or Mary Volkert
All-Church Work Days
Good news! You and your family have three opportunities this year to help maintain our church facility and grounds: May 3, July 12, and, October 18. (These dates are also on the PCC Church calendar on the website.) These dates have been scheduled to provide the members of the church and their families specific times to serve the church by doing small tasks that keep the church building and grounds in tip-top condition.
Prior to each work day, a list of specific tasks that need to be completed will be available to individuals and families. The necessary tools and materials needed to do each task will be identified so you will know what to bring or what to look for when you arrive. Work hours are flexible to allow people to participate in both morning and afternoon.
The Deacons are asking each family or church member to pick one of the scheduled work days to serve the church by helping to maintain it. Working to keep up our physical facilities and grounds is a visible way to serve and teaches our younger members the role of service in a Christian’s life.
Please feel free to speak to any of the Deacons if you have any questions.
