Vacation Bible School 2009
Vacation Bible School 2009 ran from July 26-31. This year's theme was "Hero Quest." The Superhero Alumni Department (S.A.D.) faced an audit from the government with the accusation that the department did not have true superheroes. As the week went on, Dolores Spair (D. Spair - the worrisome director of S.A.D.), Conrad (the upstart heir apparent of the directorship), Luke (the bumbling hero-candidate handpicked by Conrad), and Constance (the newest and most hopeful employee) learn from a mysterious man in the shadows more and more about the one true superhero - Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The department closes down and reopens as G.L.A.D. (God's Love Always Delivers).
Every day, children brought in a coin offering to help a child in an orphanage in Manipur, India. Praise God that He encouraged the children to bring in an abundance of coins to sponsor Ruth for one year.
This year's program was written personally by the directors and staff to convey a strong Christ-centered Biblical message, while keeping the week fun for the children. The directors look forward to VBS 2010 and to see both new and familiar faces to attend.
